So Microsoft Resets the Hybrid Work Clock and want’s it workers coming back to the office.

No more Remote for team green it seems…

Starting February 2026, Microsoft will require employees living within 50 miles of a company office to work onsite at least three days a week. The policy will roll out in phases, beginning in the Puget Sound area, then expanding across the U.S. and globally.

Chief People Officer Amy Coleman says the move is about boosting collaboration and innovation, especially in the fast-paced AI era.

While some roles like consulting and field marketing are exempt, others may request exceptions for long commutes or lack of local team presence.

Notably, some teams may exceed the three-day minimum based on business needs.

Microsoft leadership will address the change in an upcoming Employee Town Hall, emphasizing that this shift is not about layoffs but about building momentum through in-person teamwork.
